A cycle down from Exeter today. Highlights were the singing Lesser Whitethroat on the railway line FP, 14 Whimbrel, Greenshank and 6+ Hobbies.

Waders no gone bar those above, although there was a Common Sandpiper on the canal by SWW works. Ducks equally gone bar a few none breeding Gadwall (6M together) and a few none breeding male Shoveler.

5 sing male Whitethroat around cycle path and marsh. Just 3 singing male Sedge Warbler today, though the wind probably kept them quiet. Nearly 30 Reed Warbler, majority singing. 7 Cetti’s singing south of Countess Weir. 35+ Swift, 15+ House Martin, 12+ Swallow and 5+ Sand Martin. Also 2 Egyptian Geese.

A few Hairy Dragonflies, Large Red Damselfly and first Azure Damselfly I have seen. Plenty of Orange Tips still, also a number of Red Admiral from last weeks southerlies.
