A cycle down from Exeter today. Relatively quiet compared to recent days, not helped by management work by lagoon, all be necessary work.
Across Marsh 150+ Teal, 16+ Mallard, Marsh Harrier (prob 2cy Male), Ad M Kestrel, 2 Sparrowhawk, 80+ Linnet, 2 Cetti’s Warbler, 13 Stonechat (9M & 4F), 7+ Skylark, Reed Bunting.
The lagoon area was quiet due to afore mentioned work, so just 30+ Coot. Little else bar some Teal on the scrape.
Turf on dropping tide was surprisingly poor, with nothing really of note bar 17 Brent Geese.
The Discovery Pool also quiet, though 3 Water Rail was good and 4 Chiffchaff.
By Station Road, 50+ Teal on the pool, along with first flock of migrant Lapwing at 47.
Finally early afternoon 50+ House Martin and 10+ Swallow moved north along canal line.
Plenty of Common Darters, a few Migrant Hawkers and a Painted Lady & a Small Copper in the warm sunshine.
