A cycle down from Exeter and a walk around the perimeter of the marsh.
The best was two Great White Egrets, one seen flying across the marsh and later back ending up on the lagoon early afternoon. A second then seen flying over the railway line to Powderham Marsh area, whilst the lagoon bird was still present.
On the lagoon and scrape were 122+ Coot, 12 Gadwall, 22 Wigeon, 8 Shoveler, a Pintail, 2 Ad Little Grebe, 30+ Teal (with a further 20 elsewhere) and a Ruff.
Tide was just dropping at Turf, with about 400 Curlew, the majority on Bowling Green side, 120 Dunlin and 4 Golden Plover. At least 320 Black-headed Gulls.
Land birds included 80+ Linnet, 16+ Meadow Pipit, 3 Stonechat, a Skylark, 25+ Chiffchaff, 4+ Blackcap, 10+ Stock Dove, Grey Wagatil and 2 each of Swallow and House Martin.
Otherwise 2 Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Jay and 3 singing Cetti’s Warblers (all be two were learning!!)
