Highlights were:
2 Green Sandpipers on the river at Countesswear, plus a Sparrowhawk overhead;
200+ ducks of 6 spp. on Matford Pond, the smallest minorities being 2 Gadwall (v. unusual here) and 4 Tufted;
1 Marsh Harrier, 2 Pale-bellied Brents, and 400+ Lapwings on Exminster Marsh. Probably 3000+ ducks in total;
350+ Avocets scattered across the mud between Turf and Topsham, but, ‘lowlight’, no Golden Plovers.
