A full morning in the field turned up a Short-eared Owl in the willows, the Wryneck pretty much in the same place as 3 days ago and a migrant Dartford Warbler on Bolt Head. Also 2 Kestrel, 3 Sparrowhawk inc.2 moving west, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 90 Meadow Pipit moving west, 2 Whinchat, 2 Wheatear, 41 Robin, 3 Whitethroat, 29 Blackcap, 61 Chiffchaff, Spotted Flycatcher and 4 Raven.
Non-avian: Male Ruddy Darter watched at close quarters for several minutes, only the site’s 2nd ever record, Southern Hawker, 2 Migrant Hawker and a Hornet Robber Fly. Ten butterfly species inc.4 Clouded Yellow, 2 Painted Lady, a Wall Brown & 21 Red Admiral.
