Today I took the train to Dawlish Warren for the high tide and cycled back to Exeter. Highlight was an Osprey fishing just off the Warren and catching a fish before head well upstream, probably to Powderham area.

Waders were limited by distance, as roosting mostly along side of railway line. However 4 Grey Plover, Barwit, 25+ Ringed Plover, 5+ Sanderling and a few Dunlin. 200+ Curlew and 120+ Redshank seen from train. 400+ ducks on water, Wigeon and Teal. Also Mediterranean Gull, Common Gull and 2 Sandwich Tern. 3 Swallow, 3 Meadow Pipit, male Kestrel and 30+ Linnet too.

Not too much on the cycle back, 2 Common Gull by Powderham bridge, 13 Cattle Egret with cattle around Turf and a Marsh Harrier. In addition Kingfisher from train near Cockwood and another earlier on river near Marsh Barton station. Still plenty of Clouded Yellows along side of cycle path.
