A visit to Torquay gave me the opportunity to check a few old haunts. A brief morning look at Broadsands was pretty much a waste of time due to the strength of the NE wind. 3 Great C Grebe and a single GN Diver. 5 Cirl and 2+ Reed Buntings in the car park.

A after lunch walk around Torquay seafront was much more fruitful as less affected by wind. 25+ Gannet, 20+ Cormorant with many large gulls feeding on a fish shoal. Also 4+ Great Northern Divers off the harbour and 8+ Shag.

Along Torquay harbour wall 5 Purple Sandpiper, and on the pontoons 7 Turnstone. In the very sheltered Torre Abbey Sands, 12 Common Gull and 2 Ad Mediterranean Gull.
