A cycle down the Topsham side of the estuary. Highlight was the male Goldeneye, first seen off Topsham Ferry as it moved up river. However not seen at all on return leg.

Wader numbers were low due to the state of the tide. 80+ Avocet from Goat Walk & Clyst VP combined. 300+ Dunlin for same area. Otherwise best bits were Greenshank from Topsham Rec and a Barwit flew upriver in front of Topsham Quay. Male Red-breasted Merganser in same area. And Little Grebe off the Rec.

Over whole site 200+ Teal, 250+ DB Brent Goose. On Bowling Green Marsh 460+ Wigeon, 85+ Shoveler & 12+ Pintail.

Not too much else of real note. But low carbon birding list moves to 73, which included Green Woodpecker flying over Alphington War Memorial junction.
