A cycle down from Exeter to Bowling Green. 2 Spoonbill, 7+ Cattle Egret, 2 Ad Spotted Redshank and 2 Green Sandpiper were the highlights. Waders including Goosemoor were 170+ Blackwit, 185+ Redshank, 14 Greenshank, 16 Dunlin, 92+ Curlew, 4 Whimbrel and 7 Lapwing. (Curlew were partly in an obscured position so this is not a total count). Also 15+ Teal and an Egyptian Goose. 200+ BH Gull, with another 80+ on estuary. One Ad Med Gull from viewing platform. 5 Shelduck families, one on Bowling Green, 2 from Goat Walk and 2 at Topsham Rec.
On the way there were 5+ Sand Martin near Double Locks, with 56 Mute Swan, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Coot and a female Sparrowhawk on the lower part of the Riverside Country Park. 5M Blackcap still singing there too.
