Late afternoon in the field at North Down Farm I was treated to 40+ lapwing, 4 golden plover (first time I’d seen either of these two in this location), 3 cattle egrets, a dozen fieldfare, 7 redwings, 1 song thrush, 100+ starlings. All of the species seemed quite happy to mix so I think there must have been food to be found due to the field sloping towards the south and having thawed a lot quicker than some other areas.
