Publishing
The Publishing Group
DBWPS has a very active publishing group responsible for all the society reports, journals, books and web-based publications.
The group consists of a chairman, the editors of the various publications, an art editor and webmaster (see under Council & Working Groups).
Current and forthcoming publications include:
- Devon Birds – published in three issues every year, this is the journal of the DBWPS. The third issue incorporates the annual Devon Bird Report (DBR). Free to members and available for sale to non-members. Previously two seperate publications, the Devon Birds magazine and the Devon Bird Report, the two were amalgamated into a single journal at the beginning of 2007.
- The Harrier – a bi-monthly newsletter for members.
- The Birds of Lundy – a major new book on the avifauna of Lundy, published jointly with the Lundy Field Society. Visit www.birdsoflundy.org.uk for more information.
- The Birds of Devon – an up-to-date study of the avifauna of the county currently in preparation and due for publication in 2009.
- A Checklist of Devon Birds – a new updated version of the Devon checklist, scheduled for publication in 2008, currently being edited.
- www.devonbirds.org – The latest project undertaken by the DBWPS Publishing Group. The site officially went live in October 2007. Phase 2, which includes major technical upgrades, is due at the end of April 2008. The site is regularly updated.

Other DBWPS Publications
There are a number of other publications that have been produced directly by the DBWPS, including an Atlas and local reports. A listing of these is provided here.
Other Publications
This is a listing of other publications, including books, magazines, journals and newsletters dealing with avifauna and other biodiversity within Devon, Nationally and from overseas. The main criteria for including these publications here is that they should be of interest to members for research, reference or simply of general interest. Where possible some background information has been provided or there is a link to a seperate page that provides a review or more detailed account of the content.
