Blackcap colour-ringing

I have just begun a five-year colour-ringing project on Blackcaps which overwinter at my ringing site just outside Sidmouth in East Devon. I am looking at migration, overwintering site fidelity between years and during each year, and the feeding behaviour of the birds. The birds are ringed with three colour-rings and a metal BTO ring, with two colour-rings on the left leg and a colour ring above the metal ring on the right leg.

If you should see one of these birds, could you please send the details to me via the Noticeboard email address below, or report the bird in the normal way to the BTO via their website www.bto.org or their postal address: The Nunnery, Thetford, Norfolk IP24 2PU. You should provide the colours of the rings, the site (preferably with a grid reference) and any observations which might be of use in the study. For a prompt reply and information regarding the project and its progress, please email me at the address below.
