Recent South Milton Ley highlights
24 August 2009
Among recent highlights at DBWPS's South Milton Ley reserve, Bob Burridge reports four juvenile Sparrowhawks – a record count for the site – "possibly all from the same brood, playing around together" on 15 August.
On 16 August, Bob trapped and ringed a juvenile Grasshopper Warbler, and on the same day controlled an adult Sedge Warbler ringed at Slapton Bird Observatory. Still waiting to hear about the ringing date, Bob says: "It's odd for an adult Sedge Warbler to move west since they usualy move south-east and then south across the English Channel."
More news in due course…
