Juvenile Swallow controlled at South Milton Ley

Devon ringer Bob Burridge reports several hundred Swallows roosting at South Milton Ley on 9 August. Among the birds caught was a juvenile Swallow already bearing a BTO ring, number X260758.

If, when Bob hears back from the BTO about the place of ringing of this bird, it turns out to have been ringed in Devon, it will provide a further piece of the jigsaw about local dispersal by Swallows before they depart for southern Africa.
