Garganey at Wrafton Ponds
28 April 2009
Rob Jutsum caught up with this scarce passage visitor at Wrafton Pond, where it was first seen this morning by James Leonard.
Of his encounter with the Garganey, Rob writes: "Although the bird was present when I first arrived, I had to cope with an army of Mums and Dads with children in pushchairs, and dogs as well! I was joined by James Leonard but the bird vanished from view for the next hour before reappearing just as Malcolm Shakespeare arrived. Luckily the bird was only 25 feet away, enabling me to take several good pictures."
