Ian Seward took this shot of what he believes to be a second Lesser Spotted Woodpecker at Steps Bridge on 6 March (see also under 24 February for images by Dave Stone).

The bird, an adult female, was in a clump of trees on the opposite side of the river between the entrance and the bridge to where the paths split.

Ian took the photo at about 4.15pm as the sun was setting, but despite the poor light managed to get a good photograph. Thanks Ian.
