Axe Estuary Newsletters

The Axe Estuary has a very active and growing group of bird watchers and ringers. Apart from their own annual Bird Report, they also enjoy their own bi-monthly newsletter. All Axe Estuary Newsletters are now available to read on-line and to download.

The ‘Axe Estuary Birds’ newsletter covers bird news and sightings in a ‘patch’ extending over a radius of 5 km from Axmouth Harbour, roughly as far as Branscombe to the east, Rousden and the Undercliff to the west and just beyond Colyton to the north – and as far as the eye can see seawards to the south!

The popular twice-monthly newsletter was first produced in late 2004 by Devon Birds member David Walters. In 2008, Steve Waite stepped in to help David by producing the detailed reports of the birds of the previous two weeks, while Mike Tyler contributes news of ringing activities.

The following lists will provide access to the newsletters covering 2009 backwards. All newsletters back to 2004 will eventually be made available here in PDF format.
