DWT extends Marsland reserve
12 January 2009
Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) has this month completed the purchase of 7 hectares of woodland and meadow adjoining its Marsland nature reserve, on the Devon/Cornwall border, near Bude.
The land acquisition, part of Beatland Woods, is an important addition to the Site of Special Scientific Interest and will provide extra habitat for many species of birds, plants and insects. The site is exceptionally diverse, consisting of wooded, steep-sided valleys along with coastal heath, meadows, small streams and ponds. (Source: www.devonwildlifetrust.org)
