The new Devon Birds Journal

2007 saw the amalgamation of the Devon Birds magazine and the Devon Bird Report under the single "Devon Birds" banner.

The amalgamated publication also saw the introduction of a completely new format. Previously all DBWPS publications had been in A5 (148 x 210 mm) whereas the new journal format saw an increase in page size to 170 x 250 mm.

The Journal is published three times a year, the first two issues containing articles on birds, bird study and bird watching, mostly in Devon, the third issue comprising the Devon Bird Report which includes the systematic list, survey reports, ringing report, county list and short reports on birds new to Devon.

The volume numbering system for the Journal is a continuation of the magazine volume numbers (Volume 61 for 2008) but the third issue also maintains the volume numbers of the Devon Bird Report (Number 79 for DBR 2006).
