Membership

The Devon Bird Watching & Preservation Society (DBWPS) is a county bird society with a long and distinguished history dating back to 1928.

Throughout this time society members have been organising and promoting the study and conservation of birds through fieldwork, recording, reserves management and publishing.

Membership includes the following benefits:

  • a regular number of illustrated lectures.
  • free participation in field meetings, led by expert guides.
  • copies of the society's thrice yearly journal, Devon Birds, including the award winning Devon Bird Report.
  • copies of the Society's newsletter, The Harrier
  • access to DBWPS reserves and hides.
  • access to the members' area of the Society's web site, www.devonbirds.org.

Of equal significance is the fact that membership helps to promote the conservation and protection of birds and wildlife within Devon as well as nationally.

Membership is based upon an annual subscription:

  • Membership – £18 per year (includes all members of a single household)
  • Junior Membership – £10 per year (under 16 on 1 January of the current year)
  • European Membership – £28 per year
  • Rest of the World Membership – £33 per year
