Bird Watching

DBWPS has a diverse membership, many members also subscribe to other conservation or environmental organisations whilst others have very specialised interests. However, the one thing all members have in common is their love of birds and birdwatching.

This section will cover a very wide area, including which birds can be watched in Devon and where.

This area of the website is updated very regularly as new and revised data dictates.

You will find downloadable files such as the new Devon Checklist by Simon Geary. This latest Publishing Group document represents a whole new way of dealing with society publications. It will only be printed "on demand". It is intended that the user should simply download the PDF file and read it or print it on their own machine should they feel the need. The saves time and money.

We will publish the latest version of this publication immediately and it can then be downloaded. This represents a huge saving of time and money and cancels out waste. However, if this method of distribution does not suit you, then we will be happy to print a single copy 'just for you'. Contact us for details of how to do this.

This section also contains the latest versions of bird recording forms in both paper based and electronic format. You can download the latest 'preferred' spreadsheet or a PDF of the recording form.

This section also includes full guidance to members and visitors alike on how to properly submit a record. Following these guidelines can really help the County Recorder and Data manager to assess your records properly and pass the information to our conservation partners and to our editors.
