Check this section regularly for the latest bird sightings. The section is in two parts:
‘Recent Sightings’ will include short reports accompanied by photos where these are provided.
‘Bird Notes Digest’ will include a periodic selection of records submitted to the Assistant County Recorder, Julia Harris. Records can be submitted to Julia at devon-birdrecorder@lycos.com. You will also find here the on-line version of ‘Bird Notes’ published in The Harrier during 2008.
Devon SightingsThis website has been built very much as a reference and source of information on Devon avifauna; and although we have included news and pictures of recent sightings by our members, this is in no way a comprehensive record for the county. We have been particularly impressed by the enthusiasm and skills of one of our younger members, Joe Ray, who has built his own site and specialises in recording recent sightings within Devon. We are thefore happy to provide a link to www.devonbirding.co.uk which members should find interesting. Please remember that any reports submitted to Joe through his 'devonbirding' website should also be copied to our own County Recorder, Mike Langman, and Assistant County Recorder/Data Manager, Julia Harris through devon-birdrecorder@lycos.com to ensure that the record is included in the county database. |
